Ambiarchy Academy teaches the new philosophical syntheses of Ambiarchy and Ambitheism, and how to put them to practice. Together, Ambiarchy and Ambitheism compose a comprehensive worldview, which has application in the real world.
Learn about the Universe! Study humanity’s place in it. Learn to relate to one another!
How to Use
Ambiarchy and ambitheism together compose a theory of everything. You can utilize this theory of everything as a new operating system, which helps you to sort phenomena/noumena and navigate the world and our universe. If you find a better one, you can update your operating system, just like you do on your computer. I am confident this one will be quite useful to you. Give it a test. No need to wipe the current drive, we’ll be referencing the apps you currently have installed. And remember, you can always remove this operating system. It is intended to compliment, rather than replace, your current one. It adds, without taking away.
Freedom of Thought and Expression
Participants are expected to be relatively free of dogma, to have an open mind capable of momentarily suspending judgement and grasping ideas on their own grounds, to be able to actively listen, and to critically think for themselves. Debate and disagreement is encouraged after full comprehension of the ideas.
Freethinkers and truth seekers, radicals and heretics of all kinds are encouraged to participate, including antitheists, atheists, agnostics, gnostics, theists, and pantheists; as well as libertarians, socialists, and populists. This group is interested in exploring the intersections of worldviews, and in establishing a syncretic, integral, and compatibilistic approach to their differences. Ambiarchy and ambitheism take influence from all of these. In many ways, the main goal of ambiarchy and ambitheism is to understand the reconciliation of the parts and the whole. Each worldview has a part, but not the whole, of the Truth. To know as much as we can of the Truth, we must balance our conflicting truths. In doing so, we become completed.
Topics for lectures, presentations, and discussions include facts from natural science, logical metaphysical speculation, and ideological motivations, such as, but not limited to:
-Metaphysics, ontology, epistemology, ethics
-Theology, mythology, religion, mysticism
-Newtonian physics, relativity, quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, astrophysics, cosmology
-Chemistry, evolutionary biology, zoology
-History, archaeology, anthropology, psychology, sociology, economics, politics
These topics are broken down into three wide categories: Experientia, Rationalis, and Praxis, which each contains four subcategories.
I am responsible for primary lectures, but members who want move forward in their earning of degrees will be responsible for secondary lectures. It has been found that lectures are actually very ineffective forms of getting information across to be remembered. One study suggested that as little as 10% or less of information from a lecture is maintained. However, lectures and teaching more generally have been found to be the best source for student-learning retention. In other words, the best way for students to learn is to present. You will be encouraged to use what you have learned from my primary lectures (which will be posted to be read or watched and studied).
Presentations and Interactive Learning
Because lectures are not the best means of learning information, and though we will continue to use them, I will be using visual aids in presentations as much as I can, and will be encouraging student participation in discussion. There may be times when games are played or songs are sung. Students are also encouraged to present visual aids or even to arrange participatory methods of learning.
There will be lots of time made for facilitated discussions.
As part of the immersion process of learning, members will be expected to take a number of turns facilitating discussions. Here in the school, we are interested in developing the inner-leader of each individual, and providing a structured format in which one may engage the group as a leader. Other positions that will need to be filled at times will include secretarial work and scribing on the board. These positions will be rotated, and members are expected to take their turn.
Members arrange socials. If you participate, you will be expected to arrange a minimum of two socials for the group. Potlucks are strongly encouraged, but members can decide what to do. Must remain open for invite to all members of the group. It can be in a public place or in a private residence or business.
We are not just talking to hear our own voices or to kill time. We want to apply our knowledge in the real world. We do this first and foremost in our interactions with one another, which, at all times, are expected to be voluntary, consensual, and reciprocal. Narcissistic behavior will not be tolerated, and altruistic behavior will be questioned. We are searching for a balanced place between these, which is something more like honest relating and seeking mutual ground between individuals who are totally intact, their good and bad parts alike.
As part of our practice and immersion, we will be forming a learning agreement together.
Ambiarchy Academy has a degree structure, in which one earns up to 120 degrees in one of three fields. These three fields are titled Experientia, Rationalis, and Praxis, or Empirical, Rational, and Practical. You will learn about empirical reality, rational ideality, and how to bridge the two through action in the world.
When each field is completed, one has achieved 360 degrees, and is considered complete (a graduate). Upon completion, opportunities made available only to graduates will present themselves.
Quality Over Quantity
It is not expected that this group will grow large, but instead will put a preference on quality of participants over quantity. Participants will most likely represent a sampling of elite radical and heretical thinkers. However, this group is open to anyone of any background who cares to put the work of participation in.
